Langley Prep offers private SAT/ACT virtual coaching with a customized approach to achieve the maximum score improvement possible. It is more intensive than regular test prep/tutoring and is only recommended for highly motivated juniors and seniors looking to maximize their scores:

  • Exclusive focus on private 1-on-1 coaching

  • Score increases are 6-7x higher than traditional test prep

  • Langley Prep students not only learn test prep strategies, but also additional techniques related to maximizing their score: Study Techniques, Speed Reading, Time Management, Confidence Building, Nutrition, Sleep, Meditation/Positive Visualization

  • A game plan is created to determine which exam (SAT vs. ACT) and exam dates are optimal for the specific student

  • A customized curriculum is created for each student, based on his or her diagnostic test scores, strengths/weaknesses. Statistical data analysis is used to determine areas of focus

  • Student tuition goes towards The Ana Project, a web-based nonprofit (501c3) dedicated providing SAT/ACT prep to all students regardless of financial situation.

SAT vs. ACT
I don’t recommend studying for both the SAT and ACT. While both exams have similar content, they are different enough in format to confuse students studying for both exams. Please note that colleges have no preference between SAT or ACT and students don’t get any brownie points for submitting scores of both formats.

I highly recommend that students pick 1 exam format and put 100% focus on it. For those students who are undecided, I will help determine the most appropriate format for them. This occurs before any sessions begin.  After determining which exam format (SAT or ACT), students should sign up for 3 exam dates for the following reasons:

  • Most students take the SAT/ACT multiple times
  • The majority of students improve their scores from the first to the second exam
  • The Super Scoring admission policies of many colleges/universities

Study Time
All homework will be assigned on the student’s calendar so there is no confusion. Students will also be required to take an average 3-4 practice exams before sitting for the real exam. Students take these exams themselves on non-session days (preferably a Sat/Sun morning).

Sessions
I do both Skype and in person coaching, but the majority is over Skype. There is no difference between the two formats in terms of score improvement. I do in person coaching on a case by case basis. To learn more about in-person coaching, please email Info@LangleyPrep.com.

All sessions are 60 minutes. The number of sessions is dependent on the individual student's situation, but on average between 17 sessions. The number of sessions range from 1-3 per week depending on the student’s specific timeframe and schedule.

In terms of scheduling, sessions are staggered around the 2 exam dates. This ensures students do not get rusty between the first and second exams. The majority of the sessions will be scheduled before the first exam. It takes 2-3 weeks from the test date for students to receive their scores. The remaining sessions will be used to identify key areas to improve from the first to the second exam.

Price
Pricing is based on the number of sessions:
  • $230 per session (1-5 sessions)
  • $220 per session (6-10 sessions)
  • $210 per session (11-15 sessions)
  • $200 per session (16-20 sessions)
  • $190 per session (21-25 sessions)
  • $180 per session (26-30 sessions)

Next Steps…
