Facts:
- The SAT doesn't test what you learn in school, but should rather be thought of as a new subject
- Most test prep courses fail, because learning a new subject in a couple months doesn't work.

Benefits of Starting Early
1. Reduce Stress & Improve Confidence
- Cramming doesn’t work on the SAT/ACT given the immense amount of material that is tested. Spread out your preparation and avoid unnecessary stress and last minute cramming.
- Early testing can boost your confidence, as you'll have more time to familiarize yourself with the test format and content. This confidence can positively impact your overall performance on test day.
- Senior year is stressful enough with college applications on top classes. Finishing the SAT/ACT before Senior year means one less thing to worry about.
2. More Retakes = Better Score
- Colleges don’t have visibility to how many times you take the exam and only see the scores you send them.
- Taking the exam early provides ample time for retakes if you're not satisfied with your initial score. The majority of students improve their scores after studying and preparing for the test for the second time.
3. Increase Your Chances of Acceptance
- Studies show students who get the exam out of the way before their senior year have a higher acceptance rate than seniors who haven’t finished taking the SAT/ACT.
- By taking the exam early, you can complete this requirement sooner and then focus more on your coursework, extracurricular activities, and other aspects of your high school experience. This can lead to better grades and a more well-rounded application.
- Plan Ahead and more flexibility on Applications: Getting your scores earlier will help you narrow down your college choices and plan your application strategy more effectively. Some colleges have rolling admissions, meaning they accept applications as they are submitted, and some offer early decision or early action options. Taking the SAT early ensures you have scores ready for these early application deadlines, giving you a higher chance of being admitted.
Things to know...
- Langley Prep is tailored for highly motivated students with a whatever-it-takes attitude toward maximizing their scores. It's not a good fit for students who aren't motivated and averse to putting in the work.
- Since Langley Prep is structured so differently from other test prep programs, it's difficult to share details like pricing/packages over a quick phone call, email or text. This is why all program details are shared exclusively during the Initial Parent Zoom Consult.
- The initial consult is just for parents. If there is interest in moving forward, I schedule a second consult exclusively for students, because, often times, they have their own unique questions and concerns regarding the SAT/ACT exam.
